With this blog I plan to chronicle my experience as a medical student in the inaugural class of Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (Rochester, MI) and whatever else gets thrown my way. While I cannot guarantee what this blog will mature into (or if it’ll even be updated regularly), I hope that someone, somewhere can benefit from my words. I guess we’ll see.

A couple of things about myself: I graduated twice from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) — once for my Bachelor of Science in Engineering (2010) and a second time for my Master of Science in Engineering (2011), both in Biomedical Engineering. Before that, I attended Bard College at Simon’s Rock (Great Barrington, MI) and received an Associate of Arts (2008) degree. I have wanted to do medicine since my earliest memory, but being the first in my family to attempt the arduous process, I had to learn a lot over the years.

There’s a lot more to come in future posts — hopefully, I’ll cover some of my experience in preparing to apply, applying, interviewing and finally making my decision to attend OUWB SOM.

Plan on coming back for more? Introduce yourself!
