Day 35: Making progress1 min read

Today’s inane image of the day:

Ahhh! There are various strains of gram positive bacteria on my kitchen counter!
…oh, wait, I put those there…

By putting post-it notes of the various bacterial strains that I need to know a little too much about [well, actually, I’m glad I know all of this now so that I can stop eating and touching anything since it is all COVERED WITH MICROBES!], I am not really accomplishing much… except maybe reminding myself that this surface has probably come in contact with many of the microbes that I’m currently learning about. I think it’s time to pull out those Lysol disinfectant wipes for the 100th time today…

Just kidding.

While today was not a particularly good day on the studying front, it was a great day on the AMWA front! Our Board met today to hash out the official AMWA @ OUWB bylaws… and came up with a beautifully formatted, 6-page document that will go through a couple more people then our members for a final vote before being sent off to national AMWA. It’s really quite exciting to be part of the founding members of this organization — hopefully we build a strong foundation for future AMWA members!

I’m sad to see the weekend off so soon, but we do have quite an exciting Genetics-filled week!

I dig your AMWA shirts, you’re gonna have to sell me one of those.

Also, how cool is vibrio fischeri… glow in the dark is a whole new level of cool. Bioluminescence for the win.

@CodeBlu: Don’t you worry, next time we meet I’ll pressure you into purchasing a shirt. =)
