May 4, 2011 @ 11:17AM will always hold a special place in my heart — it was the moment that I received my first medical school acceptance. It was a redeeming, beautiful, overwhelming moment; finally, all of the years of preparation and hard work opened the door to the next chapter of my life. It was the day that I realized I would someday be a doctor.

9/30/11 for me 😀 How do you know the exact time? All I remember was that I was a “seasoned” Epic employee, going through another round of software training with a group of fresh hires. I had to contain my excitement at leaving a job that the whole room was just beginning.
I found the email and looked for the timestamp to get the exact time. I knew it was around 11AM, but I thought it’d be a cooler title if I could get a more exact time.
I was sitting in the Terumo CVS software lab hitting refresh on my Gmail … it was the few minutes that I decided to focus my attention elsewhere that the little notification showed up with an email from Wayne. It was a painful couple of moments waiting for Microsoft Word to open…
